Review: Guerlain Rouge Automatic Lipstick in Champs Elysees

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are happy and healthy.

Guerlain Rouge Automatic Lipsticks are not new in the market, but, my first Guerlain Lipstick ever. Launched in April 2011, Rouge Autmatic are a sensation and are being raved about by bloggers and YouTubers across the world. Rouge Automatic lipsticks are named after famous Guerlain creations and places.

I bought this beautiful shade called Champs Elysees (#165), named after a street in Paris, France, arguable the most famous and expensive real estate street of the world! Champs Elysees lipstick is a beautiful reddened raspberry pink shade with nuances of fuchsia shimmer which one would expect from a luxury brand of Guerlain. I don't have singly color which is similar to Champ Elysees.

With a semi opaque and glossy finish, this lipstick doesn't disappoint in longevity. It stays put through a long day of 8 hours easily with couple of cups of coffee/ tea and a full meal. It stayed strongly on my lips for 8 hours and refused to fade or budge. Highly moisturizing and hydrating long wearing formula that it almost felt like a lip balm initially and also doesn't dry out the lips through out the day. Applies smoothly and glides like an ice skate on lips without tugging or pulling the lips.

Packaged in a gold square tube which, I think, is a plastic or semi metallic, with a slider button which helps to take the bullet in and out of the tube. If you push the button down, the bullet comes out. Innovative packaging! But, wonder why Guerlain did not consider having name of the lipstick on tube.

Price: INR 2450/- for 3.5 gm

Overall, Champ Elysees, like it's name, is a lipstick which is 'high' performance in every department, be it longevity, moisturizing, texture and just about everything that you expect from heftily priced luxury lipsticks. If you want to start your Guerlain Rouge Automatic lipsticks, this is the shade which you should start with.

  4. Hi Eesha! Been so long since I commented here, though I do read all the updates on your blog..sorry about that!

I love this color, and it looks lovely on you. Haven't tried anything from Guerlain, especially these Rouge Automatic lipsticks I have stayed away from because I thought they all were the frosty shimmery sorts. I must confess your post has me wanting to pick more than a few now :D

    2. Btw you should try the lipstick as a blush...just dab the excess on cheeks and see what a fantastic flush it gives...

    3. Oh yeah... but I am scared considering my sensitive skin and wonder whether it would make my already oily skin look more oily and not dewy! :-|
